Award-winning pianist Tamila Salimdjanova has been described as “A veritable tour de force” (serenademagazine.com).

​Ms. Salimdjanova received widespread recognition after winning both the First Prize and the Audience Award at the BNDES International Piano Competition in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). Her additional honors include top prizes at the Birmingham International Piano Competition (UK), Massarosa International Piano Competition (Italy), Lagny-sur-Marne International Piano Competition (France), Animato International Piano Competition (France), Campillos International Piano Competition (Spain), and Virtualoso Piano Cleveland (US), among others. She is also a semifinalist of the Arthur Rubinstein, Leeds, and Montreal International Piano Competitions.

​Among Ms. Salimdjanova’s solo engagements are recitals at the Radio France Festival in Montpellier (broadcast live on Radio France), Pianos-Folies du Touquet in France, the Casalmaggiore Music Festival in Italy, and Festival de Inverno Campos do Jordão in Brazil. She has appeared at Bern Casino, Basel Casino, Salle Cortot, Steinway Hall in Hamburg and London, St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Theatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro, the Concert Hall at Fresno State University, and San Francisco Symphony’s Davies Hall.

​Ms. Salimdjanova made her orchestral debut at the age of nine with the National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan, led by Kuvanch Usmanov, performing Mozart’s Piano Concerto in B-flat Major, K. 450. She has since performed with the Orquestra Experimental de Repertório, Brazilian Symphony Orchestra, Orquestra Sinfônica da Bahia, Orquestra Sinfônica de Santos, Morocco Philharmonic Orchestra, Thames Chamber Orchestra, and the Biel Solothurn Symphony Orchestra, appearing at venues such as Sala São Paulo, Theatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro, Teatro Castro Alves in Salvador, Teatro Coliseu in Santos, and Bern Casino.

​Ms. Salimdjanova frequently collaborates with distinguished artists and regularly performs as a duo with her violinist brother, Askar Salimdjanov. She is currently Artist in Residence of the Nova Linea Musica concert series in Chicago.

​Tamila Salimdjanova was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, into a musical family. Her mother, a music theory teacher at the Uspensky Lyceum, and her grandfather, conductor Kuvanch Usmanov, played significant roles in shaping her musical life. She began her music studies at the Uspensky Lyceum with the renowned Tamara Popovich, mentor to many internationally acclaimed musicians. She later continued her studies at the Moscow Central Music School, the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory with Irina Plotnikova, and subsequently at the Royal College of Music in London under Vanessa Latarche. She also studied at the Bern University of the Arts with Tomasz Herbut. Most recently, Ms. Salimdjanova completed her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Northwestern University in Chicago.

​Ms. Salimdjanova’s repertoire is extensive and varied, spanning works from the Baroque era to contemporary composers.
