A national call for new chamber music from
Nova Linea Musica
Nova Linea Musica (NLM) invites composers to submit works for Score Call 2026, our annual national call for new chamber music. Score Call is presented independently by NLM as part of our ongoing commitment to living composers and the new music community. Selected winners receive a cash award, mentorship from a leading composer, a live performance, and promotion across NLM's platforms.
At a Glance
What Winners Receive
- Cash award. Each of the three winners receives $1,500, for a total of $4,500 awarded.
- Mentorship. One-on-one guidance from composer Clarice Assad as winners prepare their works.
- Performance. A live performance of each winning work by the NLM Piano Trio. Venue and date to be announced.
- Recording. A professional recording of the performance, captured for archival and promotional use.
- Promotion. Visibility across NLM's social media channels and YouTube, sharing each winner's work with our audience.
Eligibility
- Open to composers of all ages and backgrounds. There is no age limit.
- Score Call 2026 is a national call, open to composers across the United States.
Work Requirements
- Instrumentation. An original work scored for piano trio: violin, cello, and piano.
- Notation. Standard Western music notation is required.
- Duration. Approximately 5 minutes.
- Format. Scores submitted as a PDF. An audio or MIDI recording may be included but is not required.
Submission Logistics

- Submission deadline: January 15, 2027.

- Submission fee: Free.
- Entries per composer: One.
- Notification of winners: January 30, 2027.
Rights and Participation
- Composers retain full copyright of their work.
- Selected composers grant NLM the right to perform, record, and promote the winning work, including across NLM social media and YouTube.
- Selected composers are expected to take part in virtual coaching with Clarice Assad and to be available for the rehearsal and performance.
